Ann Coulter is a Sexist, Racist, White Supremacist Bigot!! And that's a fact.

Did that get your attention? Well, it's true! If you're wondering why there's been all this drama around Ann Coulter coming to Canada to make speeches at various venues, I will tell you why.

- Firstly, who is Ann Coulter? -

You can visit her biography site on Wikipedia (Ann Coulter - Wikipedia) for the full bio, but I will just give you a brief summary here.

Ann Coulter is a 48-year old political commentator and author who is well known for her extremely controversial opinions down in the good old USA. She got her BA from Cornell University and got a Law Degree from the University of Michigan Law School.

Her father (from Albany, NY) was an FBI agent who chased communists, and her mother (from Paducah, Kentucky) was a supposed direct descendant of Puritan nonconformists who came to America in 1633 on a ship led by Thomas Hooker.

She has written seven books which have all been on the NY Times Best Sellers lists, she's written columns for many news companies in the US (most of which eventually tossed her out because of her controversial commentary), and she's been on TV as a correspondent for MSNBC, CNN and of course, Fox News... She also guests on all kinds of TV and Radio Talk shows including some here in Canada as well.

She is hardcore Christian, though, her many controversial statements and hate-filled opinions would stand to oppose that statement. She called Evolution a "bogus science".

- Examples of Ann Coulter's Controversial statements and opinions -

Let's start with her Religious views...

She believes that everyone should be Christian, and constantly reminds everyone of that whenever she can. Her solutions to many problems when asked is to go and convert the people involved to Christians...

She called Jews imperfect indirectly by saying:

"Christians consider themselves "perfected Jews" and that it would be better if everyone was a Christian".
She's anti-Islam and made hateful statements towards Muslims like:

"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity".
When a group of Muslims were removed from a US Airways flight, prompting a boycott of the airline, Coulter said:

"If only we could get Muslims to boycott all airlines, we could dispense with airport security altogether".
She also said that Airlines who discriminate against Arabs should be bragging about it instead of denying it.. She is quoted as saying:

"I think airlines ought to start advertising: 'We have the most civil rights lawsuits brought against us by Arabs.'" When the interviewer replied by asking what Muslims would do for travel, she responded, "They could use flying carpets."
Lastly, in regards to Iran possibly becoming a nuclear power, she said:

"What if they start having one of these bipolar episodes with nuclear weapons? I think our motto should be, post-9-11: raghead talks tough, raghead faces consequences" and "I believe our motto should be after 9/11: Jihad monkey talks tough; jihad monkey takes the consequences. Sorry, I realize that's offensive. How about 'camel jockey'? What? Now what'd I say? Boy, you tent merchants sure are touchy. Grow up, would you?"
Next, let's look at her Sexist Views against women...

Coulter is famous for her belief that women should not be able to vote. She is quoted as saying:

"It would be a much better country if women did not vote". "It's a personal fantasy of mine, but I don't think it's going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women". "It also makes the point, it is kind of embarrassing, the Democratic Party ought to be hanging its head in shame, that it has so much difficulty getting men to vote for it. I mean, you do see it's the party of women and 'We'll pay for health care and tuition and day care — and here, what else can we give you, soccer moms?’"
Lastly, let's take a look at her Racist and White Supremacist views...

Coulter has been quoted as saying the following in regards to a quote from President Obama’s book:

"Here's a little inside scoop about white people: We're not thinking about you. Especially WASPs. We think everybody is inferior, and we are perfectly charming about it."
In case you didn't know, WASPs are defined by Wikipedia (in WASPs - Wikipedia) as:

White Anglo-Saxon Protestant, commonly abbreviated to the acronym WASP, is a sociological and cultural ethnonym that originated in the United States and Canada and is used to refer to Americans of British descent.

The term originated in reference to white North Americans from the British Isles, particularly of English descent, who were Protestant in religious affiliation.

In modern North American usage, WASP may include people apart from English background, from Dutch, German, Huguenot (French Protestant), Scandinavian, Scottish, Austrian, Swiss, Scots Irish (Irish Protestant), Irish and Welsh backgrounds.
Also, in her latest book, Guilty: Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault on America, she has defended a White Supremacist and White Separatist organization named the CCC, or the Council of Conservative Citizens...

An article by the Huffington Post's Mark Potok describes this perfectly... Here is a quote from his blog post (Columnist Ann Coulter Defends White Supremacist Group):

Rabid far-right commentator Ann Coulter is known across America for sliming everyone and everything she disagrees with. Al Gore is a "total fag" and another one-time presidential candidate, John Edwards, is the same. Democrats are "gutless traitors" and their convention a "Spawn of Satan" gathering. Muslims are "ragheads" and America should "kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." Jews are people who need to be "perfected." The New York Times building and its editorial staff should be bombed. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens should have "rat poisoning" mixed into his food. Princess Diana "ostentatiously [had] sex in front of [her] children." The Rev. Al Sharpton is "a fat, race-baiting black man." President Bill Clinton was "a very good rapist," and North Korea should be "nuked."

In her latest foaming-mouth tome -- Guilty: Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault on America, released on Jan. 6 -- Coulter spends the better part of three pages defending a group called the Council of Conservative Citizens (CCC), which The New York Times had described as a "thinly veiled white supremacist organization." Coulter begs to differ. The CCC, Coulter opines, is "a conservative group" that has unfairly been branded as racist "because some of the directors of the CCC had, decades earlier, been leaders of a segregationist group." "There is no evidence on its Web page that the modern incarnation of the CCC supports segregation," she says. "Apart from some aggressive reporting on black-on-white crimes -- the very crimes that are aggressively hidden by the establishment media -- there is little on the CCC website suggesting" that the group is racist. Indeed, its main failing is "containing members who had belonged to a segregationist group thirty years earlier."

Coulter could hardly be more wrong. And even if she can't find time to read beyond a page of the CCC's website, she really ought to know -- after all, the organization where she frequently speaks, the Conservative Political Action Committee, has publicly banned the CCC from its annual gathering because it is racist. Also in the late 1990s, Jim Nicholson, then-chairman of the Republican National Committee, asked GOP members to stay away from the CCC because of its "racist and nationalist views."

The CCC's columnists have written that black people are "a retrograde species of humanity," and that non-white immigration is turning the U.S. population into a "slimy brown mass of glop." It opposes "forced integration" and decries racial intermarriage. It has lambasted black people as "genetically inferior," complained about "Jewish power brokers," called gay people "perverted sodomites".

But to Ann Coulter, there is "no evidence" on its website that the CCC "supports segregation." Mostly, she says, the group -- which was formed from the debris of the White Citizens Councils that Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall once called "the uptown Klan" -- is about "a strong national defense, the right to keep and bear arms, the traditional family, and an 'America First' trade policy."
I looked up the CCC on Wikipedia, and this is what I found (at Council of Conservative Citizens - Wikipedia):

The Council of Conservative Citizens (CofCC) is an American political organization that supports a large variety of conservative and paleoconservative causes in addition to white nationalism and white separatism. Some members of the CofCC board of directors are former leaders of the segregationist Citizens' Councils of America, founded by Major Bob Patterson, which is commonly referred to as the White Citizens' Council.

The Council of Conservative Citizens is currently fighting against immigration by non-whites, affirmative action and racial quotas, interracial marriage, free trade, homosexuality, forced busing for school integration, and gun control. The CofCC also looks favorably towards European nationalist and anti-immigration groups such as the British National Party, Front National, and Vlaams Belang.

The Anti-Defamation League describes the Council of Conservative Citizens as a "white supremacist" organization. The CofCC is considered by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) to be part of the "neo-confederate movement." The NAACP, League of United Latin American Citizens, SPLC (which lists it as a "hate group") Anti-Defamation League, and even some conservative groups, such as Conservative Political Action Conference, consider the Council of Conservative Citizens a racist and homophobic organization, pointing to its purported advocacy of white supremacy. This view is partially based on the CofCC's statement of principles, which condemns racial integration , immigration by non-Europeans, homosexuality, and interracial marriage.
You can decide for yourself whether the CCC is a White Supremacist organization by simply visiting their site Council of Conservative Citizens, and reading their Blog Entries... Believe me, you'll have no doubts after that...

<~~~~~~~~~~~~~>

So, to sum it all up, Ann Coulter is a Sexist, Racist, White Supremacist Hate-Speech spewing bigot... And if you called her that to her face, I bet she'd be proud!  ;)

Would I want to watch her give a speech in Ottawa, or Calgary or wherever?... Not really. If I wanted to hear some racist bigot crap, I might as well go to the source and attend a KKK rally. But should she have been prevented from giving her speech in Ottawa? No.

Now, if they prevented her from doing it for her own safety (as much as a KKK Leader would have to fear for his safety when giving a speech in public), then I completely understand. But that has nothing to do with Free Speech, and has everything to do with Public Backlash in regards to her Racist opinions... I mean, if you are ready to go out and say Racist and Hurtful things about all people that are not the same as you and your family, then you shouldn't be surprised that many people will want to silence you, no?

Anyway, I'm going to leave it at that. I've given you many examples of what Ann Coulter has said, and her various opinions, and hopefully that has at least shown you why people were causing drama because she wanted to give a speech in Ottawa.
