Dalton McGuinty is Burrying Ontario...

In debt..

Yes yes, it's that story or conversation that never fails to come up if you live in Toronto..

Nobody can understand how this guy is still in power, and how he somehow manipulated the Ontario population into electing him again.. I mean, if you ever need to brainwash someone, or start a cult, or recruit people for anything, Dalton could take care of it, no problem.

The people who re-elected him must be so ashamed, because nobody I speak to will admit to voting for him again.

But seriously, this guy can really manipulate at a grand scale. He definitely has Ontarians following him like cattle follow their shepherd, right to the slaughter.

I still remember him campaigning way back when, it was like a breath of fresh air hearing him speak. He was lashing the Feds, cleverly campaigning about that "$23 Billion gap", kicking asses and taking numbers. All the while promising to us that he would never raise taxes.

Do you remember this:

“I, Dalton McGuinty, leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, promise, if my party is elected as the next government, that I will: Not raise taxes or implement any new taxes without the explicit consent of Ontario voters; And not run deficits. I will abide by the Taxpayer Protection Act.”
-- Dalton McGuinty’s “Taxpayer Protection Pledge”, September 11, 2003 (Liberal News Release)

I'm assuming that you're laughing right now, because I am as I'm writing this... What a sham!!

Within his first year of Office, Dalton introduced the New Ontario Health Premium tax and that's where the trail of broken promises, lies, manipulation, failures and corruption began. I mean, he introduces a new Health Premium (which is to be paid on top of the OHIP payments we already make), and at the same time he is eliminating health coverages like eye examinations and physical therapy?? How that even makes sense, I have no idea..

In his second year, the corruption charges started popping up with his Ministers. Takhar, the Minister of Transportation was caught doing conflict-of-interest deals and violating Ontario's Integrity guidelines, and yet McGuinty decided to keep him on. Cordiano, another Cabinet Minister, was flagged with charging expenses for lavish trips to London and Paris, including meals and theatre tickets. Again, McGuinty turned the blind eye.

In his third year, Greg Sorbara, the Minister of Finance, had his offices (Sorbara Group Offices) raided by the RCMP as a part of the Royal Group Technologies investigation (it was believed that Sorbara and other directors in his company defrauded their shareholders).

One would think that by this point, with all of the Corruption being evident, the voters might have noticed.

In his fourth year, he got his long-term electricity plan 'exempt' under-the-table from an environmental assessment. And the Minister of Citizenship was caught giving out $32 Million in government grants to Immigrant and Cultural groups without any application process. McGuinty covered up the Minister's Investigation Results review in Legislature by proroguing it and never allowing the results and testimony to go public.

Yet, after all of these examples of broken-promises, new and raised taxes, and constant corruption, somehow Ontario voted to re-elect Dalton.

I am still shocked to this day that this happened, and this marks the day I lost any kind of faith in the voters in Ontario.

In his next term, we saw all kinds of new tax initiatives such as the new HST, as well as all kinds of new corruption cases, such as the bungled eHealth fiasco, the OLG disaster, not to mention the chaos that ensued with H1N1 and etc.

Fast forward now to the latest figures we are hearing:

"Dalton McGuinty is currently spending $2.8 million more per hour — 24 hours a day — than he takes in in revenue". “This has resulted in a massive increase in the province’s debt.”

He said that he had to break his promises as he was left with a deficit by the outgoing Tories and had to tackle and eliminate it. Yet here we are today, and we hear how he's spending $2.8 Million more per hour than the Province takes in in revenue, just piling and piling on the deficit, digging us deeper and deeper in the hole.

It's just a horror movie that gets scarier and scarier every time you watch it..

I'm left almost speechless at this point, as I truly don't know what to expect from the Voters in Ontario. The gullibility and naivete of our population is just horrifying..

But like they say, 'we made our bed, and now we have to lie in it'.

It's just sad that every night when we're finally dozing off, Dalton creeps into our beds and FUCKS US IN THE ASS..

Hey, just because I dread that moment every night, it doesn't mean that there aren't others who just can't wait for it...

You know who you are... ;)
