Toronto Mayor Rob Ford Successfully Abolished the Personal Vehicle Tax!

Wow, a Toronto Mayor that actually keeps his word... Who'd a thought it..

Yesterday Mayor Rob Ford successfully pushed his motion to Abolish the Personal Vehicle Tax through Toronto City Council!

To watch the online video of the Toronto City Council Meeting on December 16th where this vote took place, and also to watch any of the Toronto City Council Meetings, please visit: Rogers TV - Toronto City Council.

Below are the results of the votes, and which Councillors voted for and against abolishing the Personal Vehicle Tax:

In case it is not clear enough to see in the video screen capture above, below are the Toronto City Councillors who voted NO to abolishing the Personal Vehicle Tax (a move that is directly against the wishes of the Toronto Voters who in Majority elected Rob Ford as Mayor and his Mandate of Respect for the Taxpayer):

1.  Janet Davis
2.  Sarah Doucette
3.  Pam McConnell
4.  Joe Mihevc
5.  Gord Perks
6.  Adam Vaughan

In addition to Abolishing the Toronto Personal Vehicle Tax, Mayor Rob Ford also got Council to approve slashing Councillor Expense Budgets from approx. $50,000 to $30,000.

Below is the result of the Councillor Expense Budget Reduction vote, and which Councillors voted for and against the Reduction:

In case it is not clear enough to see in the video screen capture above, below are the Toronto City Councillors who voted NO to Reducing their Expense Budgets to a reasonable amount (a move that again is directly against the wishes of the Toronto Voters who in Majority elected Rob Ford as Mayor and his Mandate of Respect for the Tax Payer):

1.  Frank Di Giorgio
2.  John Filion
3.  Pam McConnell
4.  Ron Moeser
5.  Gord Perks

Keep note of whether your City Councillor is voting in your best interest.

And once again, thank goodness for Mayor Rob Ford!

PS:  Pam McConnell and Gord Perks just got added to my list of the "Worst Toronto City Councillors", and join Paula Fletcher and Joe Mihevc.  Watch for a focus on their voting records coming soon.

PPS:  By the way, those who voted for Adam Vaughan, you should know that he specifically said that his constituents voted for him on the mandate that he would raise/create new taxes.  If that wasn't what you were looking for when you voted for that elitist scumbag, I suggest you contact him and let him know about it. And for those of you who are in disbelief at that statement, take a look at the video of the Council Meeting (via the link provided above at the beginning of this post) and see for yourself.

PPPS: Another funny thing that happened was Councillor Paula Fletcher talking about the harshness of the Personal Vehicle Tax, especially on Seniors. Meanwhile, if you look at her Voting Record, she voted for the Personal Vehicle Tax, she voted against exempting Seniors from the Tax, and she voted against consulting with the public on implementing the tax... Talk about one of Council's biggest hypocrites and liars... That's why she's on the list of "Worst Toronto City Councillors". :)

I am so glad that Transparency is going to be a way of gov't life.

I am glad that Rob Ford is insisting on letting all of us tax payers see which council members are against saving us monies and those that feel that wasteful spending is their job entitlement.

This way everyone will know who to vote for in all elections.

btw: Gord Perks is voted against, bcos he wanted the monies for his expensive streetscapes that banned cars and put ART all over the place.
Just google: Dufferin St. underpass finished pics
Imagine, driving thru that short underpass tunnel and having ART (paid for with our tax dollars) mounted on the walls. Let's see how fast that gets vandalized. Especially in that neck of the woods!
