Is it just me, or are the Police in this Country completely out of control?
I know I usually write about Corruption in the Toronto Police Force, but this latest example just had to be mentioned as well.
Man beaten by police in case of mistaken identity
(http://www.nationalpost.com/news/canada/story.html?id=2475289)
"VANCOUVER - A 44-year-old man whose face was left swollen and battered after he was arrested in a case of mistaken identity did not resist arrest, Vancouver police said yesterday -- contradicting an earlier version of events offered by police."
You see, not only do they feel that they have the Right to Assault any member of the tax-paying public without fear of persecution or recourse, but they also feel safe completely fabricating and lying about the events that took place, and that to me is almost worse.
First the Police said:
“The man resisted by striking out at the police and trying to slam the door, but the officers persisted in the belief that there may be a woman and child inside who could be in danger.”
The Poor Innocent Tax-Paying Citizen was then interviewed by the Press, and described exactly what happened:
“The officers yanked him outside and beat him as soon as he opened the door, he also said. They asked him for his name only after they had beaten him. Mr. Wu's left eye was still badly swollen and shut Thursday night, and there were still spots of blood on the ground outside his front door.”
After hearing Wu describe what REALLY happened, the Vancouver Police released the following retraction:
“I want to make it perfectly clear this morning that we do not stand by that statement. This was information that was premature and released as fact when in reality only the current investigation into the matter can determine the details of what happened.”
And they ended it with the same political bullshit jargon that they always say after they get caught fucking up:
“The Vancouver Police Department also stated that an internal investigation into the case of mistaken identity would be conducted and the Office of the Police Complaints Commission was formally informed of the event.”
Yes yes.... This never should have happened, and we are currently investigating it to understand why it did. Rest assured that the proper processes and controls will be put in place to ensure that this doesn't happen again in the future. We've heard it a million times, and yet it keeps happening... It's all just Bullshit!!
Sadly, the one thing that the Police are suppose to be is Noble and Trustworthy. You know, Role Models to be looked up to and whose example should be followed. This obviously is not the case anymore.
And in those cases where the Judges have to choose between the word of a Police Officer and a Defendant, I don't know if they can simply go with the Officer anymore...
In this case, the Vancouver Police were called about a Domestic Abuse incident, and when they arrived at the scene, they knocked on the wrong door. Before even checking that the person who answered was the Perp in question, they commenced Beating him into submission.
After they arrested him and took him in (his face all messed up from the beating, and bruises all over his body), they justified it by saying that he resisted arrest.
Boy, have we been hearing that excuse a lot lately... I can even see them teaching them in Police Academy that after you've had your fun beating the innocent perp, say that he was resisting arrest to squash any attempt at them trying to sue you or the department.
This lack of Police Accountability and Honour is disturbing and disgraceful, and something has to be done about it.
I mean, even when the Cops are actually charged with the Offence, the Prosecution and the Judges always find a loop-hole to get them out of it.
And people wonder why I have such a beef against the Police...

I do not thing they should ever have been doing this. Blind justice meaning they never actually look at the real problem. Only the BS the cop tells and they are trained to tell the best lies and excuses.
I,m harassed only 2-3 nights a week by the Really Crooked Mediocre police They drive by my house at 3-4:30 am and honk their horn. Threatened me with black mail if i complain.
It used to be every night 3-4 times a night.
But their buddy a grow operator takes up any slack. So our pomp and ceremony cops are crooked through and through.
Firstly, thanks for your comment!
I completely hear you and agree.
But, you know what I mean about the Judges always going with the Officer's side of the story, and rarely with the Defendant?
In court cases which involve the Police, the Defendant is always expected to prove their case, and prove that the Cop is lying or incorrect, and not the other way around.
This is definitely a problem, and I completely agree with you in regards to this being Blind Justice. It's only a hop-skip-and-a-jump away from Communism...
Cops usually reference their "notes" and that's taken as hard evidence (for some reason). ...As there's no way that they could modify those notes after the fact, or completely fabricate the notes right from the beginning (Yeah, that could never happen!!!)..
It's all just BS, and this article's purpose, along with the quote that you highlighted, is to try and bring attention to this, and let the judges know that we know about these Lying Cops, so they better stop just buying into it and screwing the public who most likely are telling the truth.
As for them harrassing you everyday, I completely hear you again. If you take a look at my entry titled "A Stroll down DARK Memory lane", it talks about my own experiences which are very similar.
Again, thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it! Come visit again and keep commenting!
